Before class students watch a video Random Acts of Kindness and answer the questions that I had added to the video. (The link to the video is attached in this TLA). NB. My students are familiar with the flipped classroom approach and often do similar assignments at home. At school they listen to the recordings about two more random acts of kindness from the textbook that we use (Choices Upper-Intermediate, Pearson Longman) Rubrics are attached below.

Students do research online to find more information about the random acts of kindness campaign. They collect examples of acts people from all over the world perform. They use a Tricider (link attached) to add their ideas about acts that can be performed by their peers. Each group has to come up with 24 simple acts of kindness. Each group member has to write at least 4 of them, but are welcome to add as many as they want. While adding ideas, they follow what other members have shared so that they comment on their peers' ideas and add suggestions for improvement. At the end they vote for the best 24 ideas that they will use to create a calendar (a collage). In this way they evaluate the work of each member of the group. After choosing 24 acts, they have to collect creative commons images, animated gifs or videos to support the proposed acts of kindness. To make it more efficient, each group is divided into subgroups and each subgroups is focused on finding a set of images etc.

Each group can decide how they will create a Christmas calendar with random acts of kindness for each day. They can decide which tool they will use, e.g. Powerpoint, Google slides or a simple tool for creating advent calendars Tuerchen. (link attached). After they are done, they present their work to the rest of the class.

Students discuss the work done by the groups. They evaluate it based on the rubric they had previously been given. They reflect and give advice for improvement. Groups accept the feedback to improve their calendar, upon which they share them on social media so that everybody can access their calendars and perform the acts of kindness. At the end of the project they fill in a Google form for self and peer evaluation. (link attached)
