- The Geographical Discoveries of the recent years have led to domination of Europe in a new continent, America. At the same time, they extended its economic capacity and contributed to the creation of the capitalist system. The treatment of the issue of Geographical Discoveries is being made during the history lesson at the 6th grade of primary school and it is part of the first section, with the title: From Geographical Discoveries to the Enlightenment. Students collaborate to create a scratch game, an online map and an animation concerning Geographical discoveries

Discuss2021Students discuss the motives and the conditions that led people of 15th-16th century in searching and exploring new places. Teacher stimulates students' involvement in the specific subject asking them about the new vocabulary. Terms like Discoveries, Explores, Contents, etc...will be discussed farther Students form teams, organize group work according to their interests, choose their own role within the micro-group, select and assign roles(team leader, reporter, organiser, researcher...) Groups of students also choose the data collection format(online map, scratch game, animation or presentation) and plan how to use their tablets or the existing computers Teacher and students create a wiki to upload their work and recieve feedback so as to have both physical and virtual environment.

After the discussion made they know that they should search to find informations about geographical Discoveries, The Great Explores, Contents, Seatravellers in books, magazines or videos and then upload the data to their wiki.

The reporter asks each of the team member to record an audio clip of the new glossary nad maybe the definition given. Teacher observes and advises them. Groups also decide the way of the final product (video or poster)

The team who is responsible of collecting data will be devided into subcategories of: -language which will search in textbooks if there are existing texts about new glossary and will comment on them. They will record derivative and compound words, proposals and expressions and will proceed to write relevant text and acrostic with the game format. -ICT which will seek information on the internet by preparing in the form of ppt and small animation presentation of the information relevant to the glossary -Geography which will seek information on Contents at the past, taking advantage of previous knowledge, meaning the use of thematic maps in this lesson and correct reading of the legend symbols to derive the information

Collaborate1521The team who is responsible of the art, theatre and also history will be divided into subcategories of: -history which will build a timeline with specific dates concerning explores and voyages on the space -art which will make drawings according to the new glossary -theatre which will try to present the topic: "Geographical Discoveries with the great Explores" through drama short theatrical play and / or pantomime.
