Description
Learnig about storyboards and create short stories with an online generator tool like Pixton. Then they create games or sprites in Scratch.
Aims
1)Formulate a problem as they determine how to use the elements in Scratch to construct their story -- creating plot, setting, sequencing, and perspective. 2)Logically organize and analyze data by creating blocks of code to create characters and design settings. 3)Represent the data (story content) through the movement of sprites -- the characters in Scratch. The source of sprites can be from Scratch’s extensive library, an online image, a cropped photo, or an original drawing in Paint (an online drawing program within Scratch). 4)Use algorithmic thinking as they create code to make sprites move and communicate. 5)Identify, analyze, and implement solutions in the ordered steps they created to make the program work as they envision. 6)Transfer this problem-solving process to other situations as they tackle more complex animation challenges within Scratch and elsewhere in their lives.

Students divided in teams -2 student per 1 p.c. I prefer to decide for their pair. Knowledge -Comprehension: Teacher presents to students the following keywords : storyboards ,on line tools, scratch ,programming with ICT tools like NetOp. Teacher demonstrate the virtual class and visit Pixton site (it is the same in greeks). Show some ready examples and how to create storyboards.Scratch considered known from Primary School. Teacher also presents some ready examples. Use : Teacher via Edmodo send all basic informations about Pixton and Scratch (URLS)
Notes:
My students ages are between 14-17 years old. I teach in a Lab with 12 computers and i use Web 2.0 tools for teaching.

They discuss in pairs about the story or simple game they want to create. It is good to understand that the storyboard in the beginning must be simple and short. They also can use ready blank storyboards papers(given from teacher) to write two or three scenes
Notes:
Teacher must help them to decide for a short, clear and simple story or game.

Working in teams they create the storyboard and the animation. They maybe have problems to use instructions in scratch blocks to create a story so the teacher must answer to their questions and usually run the program and find the logical mistakes. It is important to understand interaction between sprites, objects and move or video or music.
Notes:
I permit to my students making mistakes while they programming and then test to find out where is wrong.
