Students are in groups of 4 and there is a scoreboard on the whiteboard. Each team makes up it name and then the first team has to go to the whiteboard and write the letter there. For example L. The next team will go to the whiteboard and add a letter after the first letter "E" then we have LE. The third team goes up and add their letter which can be t or a or s or something. So they add T and we have LET. Then we have a word but group 4 can if the wand and are able to add a letter, If they cant add a letter group 3 has to explain the word or what word can be made from the three letters. If they can group 3 will get a point and decide the first letter in the next word. But in this case, Group 4 adds T to the word so we have LETT. Group 1 cant do anything so group 4 says the word LETTER can be made so they get 1 point. If group 1 says E _ LETTE and group 2 says R - LETTER then there is a word, and group 2 explains what it means and then they get one point. Maybe 2 if they finish a word and can explain it in English.

Each group has to work together and think and talk to each other because the word can change everytime a new letter apears.

The studenst have to find out which word have the amount of letters that will give the best result to the group. Like in the word above. When group 3 addet T to the word - LET then they maybe didn´t think of LETTER but thought it would be impossible to add a letter there. So if you add a letter you should either be able to just 1 and win or you pick the word that has 5 more letters so you will win. When group 2 added E - LE they maybe though of the word LETTER so they were happy when group 3 went for T instead of A which would have ended differently.. like LEAN or LEAVE..
Notes:
It is very important that the students can explain the word they made. If not they loose a point. Then the next team before have to explain what they were thinking with the letter they added and if they can they get a point, if they can´t they loose a point. Then the teacher have to go one more letter back or until a group can tell the teacher which word can be used using the letter they added. Group 1 gives U Group 2 gives N Group 3 gives V Group 4 gives I Group 1 gives L Group 2 cant add So teacher ask group 1 what UNVIL is or what word can be made from this beginning. Group 1 can´t explain and loose a point. The teacher asks group 4 then What UNVI is og which word can be made from that beginning of a word. They cant and loose a point. The teacher asks then group 3 what UNV is and they say UNVILLING and the teacher tells them it´s wrong because it is unwilling with a W not V. So they loose a point. The teacher ask group 2 for their explanation of UN and they say unable and explain the word and get one point.

The teacher explains to the students that he will write one letter on the whiteboard. This letter can be K. Then the students has to go outside (or be inside) and take picture of one noun, one adjective and one verb. The words they take picture of have to start with the letter K. For example - C - Cow (noun) , cool (adjective) and crash (verb). Then they get three points if they have three pictures all starting with C and one is noun, one is adjective and one is a verb. The first team to get back will get an extra point, but just if they have the right three pictures.

The teacher makes 4 groups with 4 students in each. Each group has a camera (smartphone or a tablet). The teacher tells them they can act to make the words they want to take picture of. So they have to work together.

Students have to discuss whether a word is a noun adjective or verb or something totally different. So they have to agree on the words they use.

If they are connected to the internet they can publish the photos in Facebook or similar media. Then everybody can see the pictures right away and the teacher can send the next letter by personal message to the group. That way the pictures are also available to the parents who can then see what their kids are doing at school.
Notes:
It is very important to have scoreboard on the whiteboard and if you are doing this work through media you can take picture of the scoreboard every 5 minutes to show to the groups how it is.
