- Description
- Students will get x many kilometers and are supposed to go from point "A" and use the kilometers they are given to connect as many capital cities as possible anywhere in the world. It can be a competition: which team gets the most cities or which team uses the most of their kilometers (less left unused); they can also try to connect the most populated cities as possible; they have to find out what is the population in each city and add it together. They have to find the distance between their capital and the furthest and closest ones. In the beginning students are divided into groups of 2 - 4. The lesson starts when the students get a task. It can be with a detour and they have to go up to 5 places. Each group will get 300 Euros and they have to use as little as possible. They have to change the Euros into the currency they have to buy typical When they are in the cities they have to buy present which is typical for the city for their teacher.
- Aims
- Students will learn which countris are the smallest in the world because then the distanse across are not so long. They will know the scale of the map so they can find out distances. They will have to find out the names of the capitals of many cities. They will see where there are different landscape, mountins, deserts, oceon, are and where the density is high and low. They have to find out which cities are the most populated. Find out distances from their home to another cities.
